Beeslaar Pinotage 2018
Pinotage from 3 times SA International Winemaker of the Year
A real Pinotage – 96/100 from Tim Atkin
A Big Bold red
“Pinotage is not for sissies”, words Jan Boland Coetzee will use to explain the challenges of Pinotage to other winemakers. It was these challenges and the exposure to great old vines baring unique grapes that started this love affair with Pinotage. If you are lucky enough to have the right terroir and put in the effort that Pinotage deserves, there is no wine more rewarding.
De Toren Z 2014
Merlot led Bordeaux blend with Cab Franc, Malbec, Cab Sauv and Petit Verdot
Hand-picked, hand-sorted, and de-stemmed. Aged in French and American Oak
A great gifting option – it can be stored for up to 15 years
This soft, approachable ruby-hued beauty is a true testament to vines lovingly reared and winemaking raised to an art form. A Right Bank-style Bordeaux blend - to you and me that means it has mainly Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes in it.
You’ll find it tantalizingly soft on the tongue, with a hint of aniseed, liquorice, raspberry and cranberries lending a fresh acidity to its polished finish… plus, of course, all the finesse that makes Bordeaux-style wines so prized among the world’s most enthusiastic wine lovers.
It's rare, it's magnificent and it punches well above it's weight.
Selected from various sites on the Helderberg range
91/100 John Platter
The prevailing soil types were a combination of decomposed granite, Table Mountain sandstone and “koffieklip”. The nose intrigues with its aromas of black currant, dark cherry, graphite and exotic spice. The palate is smooth and subtle, with blackberry, perfumed tea and hints of oregano. Ridiculously good.
